News is a cyclical business, now it is not about who’s in power and push articles that support a certain narrative, now is just about eyeballs and getting as many as you can.
Also, drudge is more like an aggregator and not content provider. They will search the web for current news and obscure headlines. Very rarely they will go out on a limb and produce some content like during the Clinton years when no one wanted to report on Monica Lewinsky.
