You realize he took the form of a man, lived amongst us, taught us, performed miracles, then suffered and died a tortuous death, though perfectly innocent. If that is not going the extra mile, I don’t know what is.

And despite this, most who saw him and heard him still rejected him. Your excuse of needing more proof is just that, an excuse. You reject him because you don’t want to submit your will to your creator.

Well, other traditions, like Jesus' own religion, don't believe he was the son of God. They are just as convinced of their position as you are. To them, YOU are denying the truth of your future messiah.

I believe Jesus existed, by the way. The evidence is very strong.

Why are you essentially repeating my post back to me as some sort of salient counterpoint? He was despised and rejected by his own people. This was prophesied many years beforehand. It didn’t surprise him, and it doesn’t surprise me.

There a lots of things that point to Jesus as the Messiah in the Old Testament.

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out you will come for me one who will be rule over Israel, whose origins are from ancient times. “ Micah 5:2

If the Messiah was supposed to come from the line of king David, why does David in Psalm 110:1 say

1The Lord says to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.”

and again in verse 4

4 The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind:
“You are a priest forever,
in the order of Melchizedek.”

Who was Melchizedek and why did a man as prominent as Abraham pay him tithes in Genesis 14?
Melchizedek was both a king and a high priest, that preceded even Aaron of the Levitical line.

Jesus who preceded time is also our King and High Priest.
