re: This is probably a dumb question, but why is Neo-Nazism considered right wing?

When was the last time you saw neo Nazis ganged up on by this board?

On the other hand, Antifa is constantly criticized and hated by this board
Are there Nazis in Portland attacking people and pepper spraying them? Did an off-duty Army sergeant trying to earn a few extra bucks shoot a Nazi that was attacking his car and had to face charges from a corrupt DA because of it?
If Nazis looted and burned all summer maybe you'd have a coherent point. As it is you just have the contrarian schtick, and that's a crowded stage with hank back.

Yet the left wing boards find reasons to criticize Proud Boys et al. The point stands.
From Bloodlands…
quote:
The rise of Hitler was indeed an opportunity to present the Soviet Union as the defense of European civilization. Stalin, after more than a year, finally took it in June 1934. According to the new line of the Communist International, propagated then, politics was no longer a matter of “class against class.” Instead, the Soviet Union and communist parties around the world would unite the Left in a camp of “anti-fascists.” Rather than engaging in uncompromising class struggle, communists would rescue civilization from the rising tide of fascism. Fascism, the term popularized by Mussolini in Italy, was presented by the Soviets as a general corruption of late capitalism. Though fascism’s spread signified the end of the old capitalist order, its vicious hatred of the Soviet Union (went the argument) justified Soviet and communist compromises with other capitalist forces (in the interest of defending the Soviet Union). European communists were to restyle themselves as “anti-fascists,” and to cooperate with social democrats and other parties of the Left. Communists in Europe were expected to join “Popular Fronts,” electoral alliances and win election victories with social democrats and other parties of the Left.
The point has been proved, even though you are too recalcitrant to accept it. Hitler, and other facists, were right wing.

Yes - you may want to look up the Proud Boys sometime.
