New Grandpa here. What can I do to start a sound college savings plan for my little guy?

I am almost 70. Want something on auto pilot. Lump sum or monthly ok. Is Gerber good?

529. I used College Counts 529. No complaints

529 with Vanguard?
Timing is good with the market down overall.

My father in law put $10k in a 529 for each of his grandkids when they were born. I chose to contribute $50/month to each of my kids. Although we took a bath for several years because he was hard headed and wanted to invest in foreign high risk stuff and we lost a lot of money for a while we ended up with decent results over the last 7 or 8 years that'll go a long way towards my two kids undergrad degrees.

Any little bit will help along the way.

Congratulations! Nothing better than grands! I would suggest taking a look at 529 plans. You can dollar cost average each month which seems to work best for most.
