The younger generation isn't perfect by any stretch, but they also started up during a much tougher time to be successful than the olds. A degree becoming a standard requirement for a lot of entry level jobs in good industries has done a ton of damage.

Uh, that never happened unless you bought a house near the Golden Gate Bridge while it was being built.
