because of the morale of both the team and the fanbase. I was thinking the Bama game was gonna be the biggest game of the season but S.C. and the Cocks will define our season. 5 straight games in T.S. have me thinking that my glass is half full.

every conference game from this point on will be the "biggest" on a week to week basis.

...but let's face it. The majority of the fans still think the Alabama game is most important for obvious reasons. Personally, I would rather lose to Ole Miss this year than Bama (if we lose one more).

I think Miles has them ready for every game from here on out, and I think after the humiliation of the Florida loss, our guys rebound.

All LSU has to do is take each game one at a time and concentrate on each game. If LSU plays good, not even great, they will only 1 possibly 2 more games this season.

It's obviously a big game, but it is against a SEC East team which makes it less important.

LSU could actually win the SEC West with 2 losses should both losses come against SEC East teams.

I agree and I hope this to be the case. I am reading a book right now about coach Bryant and I have reached the point where they are discussing the teams of the 70's and it reminded me of where LSU is right now. The team had won a couple of NC's, just like LSU, in a short period of time. The first game of the year they thought they could just show up and win because they were Alabama. They got their arse handed to them about like LSU did last weekend. The very next week they beat Clemson 56-0 and the year corrected. I think LSU needs to do the same thing. This weekend will define LSU's season in my opinion.

Good Luck!!

BamaScoop, that's a good point and something I've been thinking about this season too.

In 2004 Saban said during the season that the team thought, after winning it all in 2003, they could just show up and beat teams. I wonder if some of that isn't going on with some of the LSU veterans this year - or at least, has been up until the Florida debacle.

This is a big game - LSU needs to get things back on track. I think they will, in a big way, but if they don't - I don't even want to think about that. Our OL got a wakeup call and will respond.

I agree, but if we lose to SC, that glass isn't even half empty. Its all the way empty and the season will be all but over.

I agree, this game is huge for many reasons.
The D needs to get some confidence by playing well.
The OL needs to show up and perform to their capabilities. They must open some running lanes. Lee just isn't ready to be forced to pass 30+ times a game. If we have to throw alot, we're in a world of trouble. While Lee will make some good throws, he's also shown that he'll make a couple of bad ones that tend to get picked.

At the start of the game, simply watch the OL and DL. If they get pushed around again, we're in a world of crap.

Without a doubt this game defines our season. It was obvious that Fla.was more hungry for the win last week.Spurrrier will have the cocks sky high and having the bullseye on you requires you to overcome that initial emotional advantage that the home team has and stay in the game early. If this game is close in the fourth quarter we should pull it out.I just see the cocks trying to go deep early and often and if they get up two scores in the second half that may be more than we can overcome.

This game is definitely huge for both sides. You guys have so much talent, but at this point seem to be young and without any proven leaders on both sides of the ball. This game will go a long way to show the type of character LSU has.

On our end, we have momentum after two come from behind wins at Ole Miss and Kentucky. While our defense has been solid all year, our offense sputtered out of the gates. Since the Ole Miss game the offense seems to be playing much better given the emergence of Moe Brown and Jason Barnes at WR. Plus, the return of Kenny McKinley cannot be overlooked. Not only is he our best WR but the leadership he brings to the huddle and sideline was missing. If Garcia plays the way he played last weekend in relief action then he could be a lot of fun to watch (for Gamecocks). He's a fiery competitor that seems to bring energy and leadership to the huddle (something that has been missing at the QB position since Spurrier's arrival).

My dad's an LSU fan and will be at the game with me. It'll be his first night game at Williams-Brice so we're both excited. This game is big on bothside of the field and hopefully will live up to the billing.

This game is huge for our D. We have to step up and play agressive on that side of the ball.

I said COULD win the west with 2 losses.

My point is that this game vs. Carolina is not as huge as a SEC West matchup. Much like last year on the East side I can see the west sending a two loss team to Atlanta.

This has been said every year since SS entered the league, and he hasn't done shite. He doesn't have the horses to do what he did at Florida.

HaHa!!

It is actually a great book. He talks about when he was offered the job as HC at the Miami Dolphins and we would only take it if he knew Alabama was going to be left in good hands. Guess who's hands he wanted...Charlie Mac. Coach Mac said no so Bryant stayed at Alabama and that was that.

LSU is all through the book as well as many other teams in the south and Nebraska and USC are mentioned regularly. The coaches back then were big competitors but they were much better friends. It talks about an LSU alum that use to let coach Bryant use his plane to recruit and charlie mac called Bryant and told him to take the LSU stuff out of the plane before he went to recruit or he was going to turn him in for cheating and then they would laugh about it.

Different times for sure.
