If I remember correctly, Bashear won with help from the teachers union. I don’t think that will help him this time around.

KY is a weird state. Similar to WV in some ways. It is deep red when it comes to federal elections and state legislature, but has a tendency to elect Dem governors. The teachers union and education lobby is the most powerful force in this state behind the coal industry, but honestly right now may be stronger. The suburbs of Lousiville, Lexington, and Cincinnati still have plenty of Karens as well. Beshear gets a pass as being moderate, mostly because he can't do as much as he would want because he has been stalled by the legislature. I think this race will be closer than people think, but Cameron should be able to heat him.
