I doubt it. I don't see Austin residents supporting an NBA team. Austin Spurs is as good as they are going to get.

Most predictions have Austin Metro passing San Antonio metro in next 15 years or so. Then moving into 20-25 largest metros. Being just an MLS town would be strange.

From? The lease in SA still has 10 years.
I think the Spurs are trying to tap into the Austin market a bit more. Moving out of SA would be a great way to alienate a large portion of the current fanbase.
