Kill switch law became effective April 1, 2021
The law requires that operators wear their kill switch when at planing speed while operating boats less than 26 feet in length. This is a federal law that was passed by the U.S. Congress as part of Section 8316 of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2021.

I've had friends pick at me about it from time to time. "Look at you being all Mr. Safety Guy". It's all in good fun but I have to set the example I expect my son to follow so I do it. I've also never drank a beer when I operate my boat. And I love the hell out of cold beer .
