It must be hard work to screw up every green that much
A top area in the state and no decent public golf course nor driving range
Weird

It's getting ready to close I heard.

This course has so much potential given the lack of quality competition for public golf. Abita has closed, Royal should close…there is no quality public golf close. CCC is a cash cow waiting for proper mangement!

Has a cool layout, it should be a gem.

I thought it was a bankrupt job when I played.

Most courses that look that bad are strapped for cash. Not Covington, the owner is loaded. They just don’t care to put any money into the course.
They ran off all of their members by raising the member fees to a ridiculous amount for the quality of the course.
They have no practice facilities, no driving range, no pool for members, no food and the course conditions get worse every year with no attempt to fix. If all that isn’t bad enough, they think their member fees should rival Beau Chene.

If they took care of that course it would be a great public course. I refuse to play it at this point.

I’m shocked overall at how crowded golf courses have been for the last couple years, yet every one of them is in shite shape. Guess all these owners are waiting to cash out.

You haven't noticed how crowded courses have gotten since covid created all these "work from home jobs"? Every weekday at Santa Maria is like a Saturday. They'll get in a couple of hours of work after their round.

Is CCC still in bad shape or did it get better this summer?

There are still some rough spots on the front 9. Six is a particular problem — it doesn’t get enough sun and some deer had a dance party on it last fall. The front also has a lot of casual water with all these storms.
Back 9 is in pretty good shape.
Added plus is the addition of the pool bar and inside bar for a post round drink and snacks. That’s a separate entity not operated by the golf course owners - those guys are trying to make it a nice club again, but not getting much from the course owner.
That said, it’s still$10-15 too expensive for what they are offering.

Agree. I would pay their regular prices if I could play the back twice. At their reduced prices (like this week $35 every day) I would only pay it if they would honor rain checks (which they usually don't when they have specials).
Royal is a better option at that price point (IMO) and you can drive over to the coast for MUCH better options..
Golf in St Tammany is great if you want to go private but for public play it sucks arse.
