Rain moved in after 10 am. Most damage done with Kdub rig with matrix shad under and crawfish attractant. Drifting over oyster beds.

Awesome job, I went out of hopedale yesterday with my dad. Found some trout around Lake Robin, a lot of smaller trout but a few keepers mixed in. Found some sheepshead and a giant bull red that surprisingly started the trout bite after we caught him.

Nice.

No pics but we launched out of hopedale at 6 and had 12 trout and 3 reds by 9 when we left to escape the storm.

Hadn't seen water that clean in a long long time.

Gonna try the trestles in the AM. Didn't want to go on the weekend. Never really fished it before but think I have the technique down.

Caught 40 in hopedale yesterday. It was a grind all morning with what felt like a 4 hr slack tide. Did most of the damage from 3:30-5 when it started falling.

Launched out of Hopedale early Saturday. Fished the rocks till about 8am. Caught one legal speck on live shrimp under a cork. Water was very dirty, so we headed out past the rocks to find clean water. Found it and fished some well heads. Caught three limits of trout and a few big reds, one sheepshead. They were hitting on pretty much everything we threw. Had a great time!!!!! Biggest trout was 3.5 pounds.

I really don't know why people make a big deal out of the technique. You just throw a heavy jig head, give it plenty of slack when it hits the water, and jig it.

It's one of the weirdest flexes in the fishing community.

I've never used a baitcaster before. Nothing to it like you said. Trout weren't at the Trestles this AM.

Well apparently it upset two people who haven't learned how to do it

But yeah, the trout are at the trestles for sure. Hoping I can get a day of no meetings here soon to make a quick run out there.

Not much going on at the Trestles yesterday. Water looked good too. Maybe the trout are already moving out.

Haven't been yet this spring but planning to head out toward Christmas Camp, Treasure Bay etc Saturday to poke around the reefs given that's the pattern in other Hopedale/Delacroix areas. Ready to see the winds chill out and kick off the summer

I think that area will be real good in the next few weeks. My plan as well and maybe comfort island if it's nice conditions.

Weather looks iffy tmrw morning, but I’m headed down there. Might be drinking some early beers at the marina until storms blow over.

I wanted to run to the long rocks out of hopedale, but I’ll probably stay inside. 4 horse, amadee or batola. Can’t decide.

Taking my mom out Monday. Not sure if I'll go to Delacroix or hopedale yet. Seems kind of hard to pinpoint where the fish will be right now. Haven't seen any reports from the long rocks, seems like it should be time.

Long rocks was absolutely loaded with sail cats yesterday, didn’t matter what you threw. Saw other boats fishing the rocks for a while dont know how they did. We did more damage by the dam than anywhere else. Water was dirty

You went on the gulf side of the dam? I heard they were catching there. Never fished it.

Tough day. Rain and tornado watch kept us at sweet water for a minute. Got into 4 horse around 1. Kept a nice red for the grill. Only keeper of the day, unfortunately. Kids’ pickup from school had us leaving when it was getting nice. Next time.
