Like anything when it comes to politics, especially here.. My first question is.. Who has what to gain financially by killing this bill?

the Pogie industry- purse seiners, processors, and support industries along with the politicians who get paid by the Menhaden lobby.

The state would gain more money if they took steps to enhance the sport fishing which is what this bill intends to do. But don't expect it to happen when people like Amedee are willing to wheel and deal to kill it so they can get the big campaign contribution from the commercial fishing lobby.
