Does anyone use this? I am sick and tired of LUS fiber and I am thinking about changing over. Thanks.

Yes. It was At&t stream at first then they sold it and changed the name to direct tv stream which for the last 2 years has been pretty solid with fiber. Also using when I travel works like a charm

Are y'all using smart tv's or are you using a stick. As you can probably tell I am clueless when it comes to electronics.

You get one box for the price and it acts somewhat like a cable box but is connected to wifi. I use the app for any additional TVs in the house. I only use the smart TV functions for other streaming services. Speaking of that, while you can access HBOMax/Netflix etc. through the Direct Stream service/box, I find the picture and sound to be better if I access those through the apps o my Sony.

If you go back far enough, it started as DirecTV now. Then it became DirecTV stream. Then it became At&t TV Now. Then it became AT&T TV. Then it became DirectTV stream again.

They told me I wouldn’t need any boxes.

I guess you could just use the app, but the box allows you to use the remote which is pretty good. I would hate not having a box.

If you have a firestick, you would have a remote with that (I assume roku is the same way) to run their app.

My main living room tv is a roku tv. A box seems redundant.

I got in early when it was $35 for all the channels. They have since bumped up the price so I switched to Hulu. Overall it wasn’t a bad service (especially at $35)

I just really like the supplied remote. When I used a Roku, I hated it. I had so many pairing issues I ended up just using my phone.

Yes, you can use directv stream on Roku, appleTV, FireTV, etc. The issue is the lack of functionality with those remotes.

If you get the box from directv, you get a fully functioning remote with FF/RW buttons and the ability to directly type in channel numbers. You dont get the channel number option with other devices and and FF/RW doesnt work the same across all devices.

I kinda miss slow motion I had with cable. Is there a way to do that? Also, there's a ridiculous number of steps to see "more information" unless I am just doing it wrong.

What do you do about the remote situation in other rooms if you don't have a box in there?

I do not watch TV in other rooms the same way as our family room. It's much more focused. I either use the Direct app on my phone or cast from whatever service I am using. It's probably 99% sports when I do that, so I use a chromecast for those TVs since they are not as "smart" as my main one which is fantastic. My 15 year old watches no traditional TV at all anymore. It's all gaming or youtube for him, so he has no need for the ATT service at all.

My wife watches tv in the bedroom every night before going to bed. Does the app serve as a remote?

I've never used that type of streaming service on mine, so have nothing to compare it too. Only used Netflix, prime, appletv etc. types No live tv type of service.
