I searched and never saw a post about it. I will never forget that day, and the entire situation. May those who died Rest In Peace, and may we never forget the lessons learned.

Did they ever settle out with the survivors?

Workers who worked on the drilling rig on the Deepwater Horizon deep in the Gulf of Mexico, called the Deepwater Horizon that exploded in 2010 have settled with British Petroleum, Transocean Ltd. without losing their jobs. It is part of a company responsible for operating the Deepwater Horizon rig, which was broken into in April.
It appears so, I never heard about it until I just searched for it though.

Thank you. I should have been more clear. Did they settle with the survivors of the deceased. I’ll do my own research.
This was devastating on all fronts.

I remember finding out about it on this website first…basically real-time. Lots of changes in the oilfield resulted from that single incident.

Wasn’t there a group out there fishing who were able to capture the first videos of the burning platform that evening? I think I remember that in some way.

I think that is correct.

Idk, but I would love to see the video.

Ummm, I think they were in international waters

Since it’s ok to talk about it now that was my biggest disappointment with Obama. He was BPs little bitch, it was significantly worse than shown, on marine mammals in particular. Killed 10,000 if not 100,000 of dolphin, whales etc.
frick BP, the executives and people should still be in prison, anywhere else in the world and they would be. They are such pos that the Russians kicked them out for being lying mfers

BP has experience with those sort of industry changing events.
They seem to be the only ones who don't seem to learn from them.

Yes, this is correct. I may tell the story at some point over the next few days. Don't feel like typing it all out tonight.
This past week A producer from a London called and emailed asking about doing a documentary of the spill and wants to hear story and etc. Haven't decided on whether or not to accept.
You cannot comprehend how massive the fire was..
Here are a few of the pictures I took with my cell phone.. have some videos on a flash drive
When we first arrived crew were still getting off life rafts onto Damon Bankston

As typical, many Louisianans unaffected by the disaster had their hands out for a payout.

Probably the shrewdest and crookedest play ever in the history of litigation - agree to settle out on fairly loose/vague terms, wait for the object-out deadline to expire, then fight every single one.
Truly scum suckers.

Always split the day celebrating my husbands birthday and remembering my little brother's close friend Wyatt that we grew up with. His family will never be the same. Goes for all of the families.

I flew out there the first night arriving on the Murphy Thunderhawk awaiting a place to land on NaKika to transport two pts to NOLA. You literally cannot comprehend the size of the fire.

International waters but in the economic exclusive zone which is up to 200 miles out. No lease from the Feds and no drilling. I understand that long string casing no longer approved by the Feds.

A few years after that happened I was working at a casino. A dude came in calling himself "the backpage king". He had just gotten a settlement from DH and spent it all on hookers and blow then went back offshore. Took him about a month to blow through it at the casino.
