I clearly stated in my post it has ZERO to do with seniority. Has everything to do with having a Qb that can make any throw on the field along with embracing the field general role which I didn’t see in 2020. I was hugely skeptical of Brennan coming back and thought he’d be better off at another program but his improvement is night and day compared to the last couple seasons. I bet you’re one of the queers who said Johnson had the “it factor” last fall and Brennan just didn’t have “it”.

And to be brutally honest Daniel’s is too quick to abandon the pocket and doesn’t make his progressions. He thrived in a spread offense early at ASU but Kelly will not be running a spread offense like Daniel’s is accustomed to. He’s got an incredible arm but doesn’t trust it.

And by the time fall roles around Nuss may very well set himself apart. He can throw the ball with confidence and tuck and run when the pocket collapses. He has skill set similar to both Brennan and Daniels. He’s not as fast as Daniels and not quite as polished as Brennan throwing the ball but he gives the best of both worlds.

I also had the opportunity to watch these guys in spring practice a good bit, which I’m basing my opinion on and conversations I was lucky enough to have 2 formal quarterbacks who attended practices that offered their thoughts. A lot can change between now and fall but Brennan is in the drivers seat.

ETA: Kelly will also not be running a 2 Qb system full time like he’s done at ND a couple times. He will specialize a couple special packages where we’ll see a Qb other than starter come in and get snaps in certain situations.

This competition is going to come down to 3 things come summer/fall:
Film room- who's sitting in the film room and pointing out things they see from opposing defenses or what they did wrong or right.
Playbook-whos got a better understanding of the playbook
Practice: who's preforming best in practice
Can't take too much away from the spring game because we don't know what plays were being called and what defenses they were playing against the 1st team defense wasn't out there the whole game, so it could be, and I'm not saying it was, that nuss was going against 2nd team defense or pieces of 1st and 2nd team and that's why he looked better.

what? He hasn’t even played the last couple of seasons. Again what are you basing this on other than passing drills, which everyone looks good doing? His TD pass was woefully under thrown and should have been picked. What is this night and day improvement you’re so excited about?
