Our company call center in Ca reopened and we literally had 100 employees quit on the spot because they didn’t want to work at the call center and wanted to continue to work from home.

These are the types of companies that will have big problems in the new economy IMO…. With few exceptions, there is no reason a call center-type job cant be done remotely.. sure, there will always be some lazy asses- but the majority of people realize they can be more productive without an old school manager peering over their shoulder and without having to spend a couple of hours in traffic commuting every day.. The company you work for had better learn to adapt, and quickly or they’ll be left in the dust .

Commuting headache, wall to wall chatter of people next to you, drab and dreary surroundings. Even once you account for the lazy assholes (which you can easily track), I imagine productivity would likely be up.

Too many companies have property leases they are letting blind them.

The employees that were authorized to work from home are allowed to continue to work from home, not all employees are technically allowed or equipped to work from home. We have two call centers tge one in North Carolina no problems, it’s the one in California.
Our parent company has call centers all over the country with little to no issues.
It’s only In California with entry level positions.
