I'd say that you have more and more responsibilities to take care of as the years go by. It is also harder to bond and make new friends after the formative years.

Mid 50s now, but I've never particularly liked people, lways avoiding the majority at all costs as a general rule.

Now dogs on the other hand are much more agreeable than most people.

This. I’m not making any new friends. I have my longtime friends that while we have group threads to talk sports and bullshite, I barely see any more since we all have kids and our own shite to deal with. Things were different when we were all single and bar hopping 3 nights a week.
