Correct me if I am wrong. Do we have a connection with UF?

Or is it just good sportsmanship?
Ok after the total beat down we experience at the hands of the Gator, alot of them came onto our board and various other SEC boards talking about how great the majority of our fans are and how even though we got beat, we should be able to come back. Most notably the fact that UF say " see ya again in Atl"
I notice the same thing happen with the Bama and UGA. They profess their hatred for LSU and Florida respectively and promise to have a rematch again in Atl and this time prepared.
Wondering if it is genuine respect on the Gator parts or just saying it for the sake of saying it. Hmm

I have never seen this happen. Mostly because LSU can't play Bama in the SECCG, nor can Florida play Georgia.

I think that it is mainly because both teams have "been there" already so there are lots of mutual respect between us.
And the fact that we are in different divisions so the loss for one of the teams doesn't put a serious damper on the chances to go to Atlanta like a loss to UGA for them, or a loss to Auburn/Bama for us probably helps too.

Aww, we love you guys too...
I think it's mutual respect mostly. Other than when we have to play each other, rarely do I see Gators cheering against LSU during the season. We hate UGA, the Gumps, and the War Chickens just as much as you do.

Don't think so, respectively means Bama paired with LSU and UGA paired with Florida...

Mutual respect since you're our permanent western division opponent and we've won the last 2 BCS titles.

I think its a mutual respect thing. We beat you, you beat us we win a championship etc, etc. We are the SEC, the best in the business! For any one of us to count the other out is not only unrealistic but dangerous. This is just a game and there is nothing that says we have to be buttholes to each other just because our respective teams compete with each other. Its all about kick-arse football!
And yes, LSU and UF do have a connection......WE BOTH BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF OHIO!!!!!!!!

Well, alot of goodwill was gained after the national championship game in which our players were chanting "SEC" while Urban was a commentator.
This, in my book showed alot of class and unity in our conference. You will never see an OU fan giving Texas any support no matter who they play.

Given the past two years, it's mutual respect. It's a tough game...players and fans treat each other well.
And then there's always one guy to make an arse of himself.
Good luck the rest of the year.

Why is everybody kissing the Gators arse? Their fans are rude and arrogant. I went to a Gator fan house to watch the game all I seen was that damn gator chomp crap.

So, you're judging an entire fanbase based on one "bad" experience in which you got chomped a few times?

I like Gator fans and I consider them the LSU of the SEC East. They have a good program.

A few times, that’s all this guy did. Last year he came to my crib to watch the game and I did no taunting at all. I was expecting the same sportsmanship.

Nah theres no arse kissing here just a little sportsmanship.
As far as bad fans you ran into....well I live in south Louisiana and so called LSU fans have keyed my car, set fire to my Gator flag on my own property and have been threatened for wearing my Gators shirts. Thru all this I still have my LSU friends come over to BBQ and watch LSU games (if Florida is not on at the same time of course) I party and joke with LSU fans tailgating at Tiger games and pulled for you against The Ohio Punkass...oops I meant Buckeyes.
And yeah the chomp thing gets old sometimes. Dont let a small sampling form your opinion. Real Gator fans are into SEC football and having a good time. Relax grab a beer and enjoy the season.
