Why is everyone freaking out?

Now that LSU was trounced Saturday a lot of fans are freaking out saying just like they thought LSU will go 10-2/9-3 this year.
Ok, that's fine and all... but has everyone forgotten that LSU went 10-2 last year?
I know LSU was never blown out of the stadium last year like they were Saturday night, but LSU might have the same record at the end of the regular season this year that they had last year.
I know this team wouldn't accomplish the same this as last year going 10-2, but that would be a great record for a REBUILDING year.
Everyone stay positive and forget about the game. They say to move on quickly after a big win... well we need to move on quickly after a big loss.
Let's all get ready to beat some cock on Saturday! Who's with me??

Because LSU gave up 51 points and was not competitive.

i have been concerned since we gave up 24 points to MSU. no shame in losing to UF, but by 30

I have no clue. We came out flat and got hit in the mouth.

And the ones who are "freaking out" over having a better record than 80 percent of the country have no idea what's in store when this great ride decides to end...and it will.

To paraphrase a wiser man than I, "Ignorance of history makes one doomed to repeat it". The point is just burying your head in the sand for such a dismal performance doesn't make the next performance any better. We all learn from mistakes. Hopefully our CO-DC's will get THEIR heads out of the sand and at least get the alignments and personnel and plays called in enough time so we quit giving up HUGE chunks of real estate so often!

Because the defensive coaching has clearly been abysmal, and shows every indication of progressively getting worse.

Agreed with the we gave up 51 points and one could argue that the game was never "really" in doubt, but let's remember it was 20 - 14 with 4:20 to go in the 3rd quarter. Not saying we really had a chance to win, but they got some garbage scores down the stretch. If Miles' only goal was to keep them < 50 than he should not have kicked an onside kick with 12 minutes in 4th quarter or gone for it twice on 4th down on our end of the field. Just saying that the final score looked really bad and for the most part the play was pretty bad, but it was not nearly as bad as the 41 - 14 beatdown in Athens from 04 or the home beating UGA took this year down 31 - 0 to ALA.

I don't totally disagree with you because we certainly got beat and there's no way around that, but it was 20-14 with 4 minutes left in the third quarter. Florida racked up 17 mop-up points in the fourth quarter with short fields to work with that they probably wouldn't have if LSU would've just been playing "normal" meaning no onside kicks, punting the ball, etc. When Lee threw the interception that was returned for a TD, the game was for all practical purposes over.
Just sayin.

especially when Les Miles says stuff like:
"We had a nice game plan. If we would've gotten into it and got it going, they would have had a tough time stopping us. But we just never got on track."

Sounds like he is blaming the players, not the coaching. Maybe he's right, I dunno. Sopmetimes players dont do what they are supposed to do out there. But it's the coaches that have to figure it out.

fwiw people were already upset with the co dc's before this game. the au and msu game showed signs of troube but no one gave a shite bc we won. Now that our shitty co dc's got us hammered in a game they seem to care more. I still think we win 9 to 10 games on pure talent
