According to Twitter, the Board only plays an advisory role, not a decision making role, in these type of matters. So it is reasonable to assume that these sort of decisions are not within the powers set forth for Twitter's Board.

I'm certainly not downplaying the issue or discounting it. It's not like I agreed with Twitter's choice to ban him. I'm just saying that it isn't as simple as Elon Musk just being able to tell Twitter to un-ban Trump.

That just sort of sounds like semantics to me.

OF COURSE their board is not typically getting involved in day to day business decisions of the company. NO board is.

However, you can be sure that any big issue from a group holding a large number of shares will be able to hold sway in any public company, regardless of what their "policy" may say.
