As a conservative environmentalist (yes it’s possible), I’m convinced Climate Change is a ploy to distract us from ACTUAL issues.
We should be talking about soil depletion and loss of topsoil, but we barely do.
We should be furious about mining for battery powered stuff and electric cars, but we aren’t.

The ploy is centered around China. "Climate change" regulations hurt our economy which makes us more dependent on China because China ignores climate change regulations.
Furthermore as we switch to more electric we further enrich China. They have 60% of the world's lithium mines.

and this is EXACTLY what they are saying is proof. if they say the earth is billions of years old. and we're basing this entire concept off of a couple data points within the last hundred years it is NO different from saying climate change is real because it was cool this morning and warmer this afternoon.
while that's not proof that it doesn't exist it's plenty to maybe not try to scare the entire planet into paying more taxes so the government can fix it.
