Instead of taking a vacation I would like to bring my family of five on an offshore day trip charter. Kids have never fished blue water so thought it would be a fun change. Tuna, mahi and maybe snapper who would y’all recommend? Open to LA or MS coasts

Always had my own boat so never really chartered.

They have lodging too. Try to get Jordan if you can, no big deal if not.

Hate when charters don't put their charter options/prices on the website. Unless I missed something, it appears to be nowhere, playing it coy with the whole submitting contact info etc.

Depending on the age of your kids, a snapper/bottom drop trip might be more appropriate. Cory Talbot in Fourchon is great and very professional.

Everyone in Venice is good but I like Gray Long. I’d just tell whoever you decide to go with the ages of your kids so they can plan accordingly.

x2

I've also gone with Paradise Outfitters (Scott Leger and Drew Bateman).

DTB out of Fourchon. If you want to bottom fish these guys have it dialed in pretty good.

Thanks for the Recs I will look into those posted. Kids are 14-12-10 the older two have caught snapper before as I used to own a worldcat 266sf for a couple years. Was thinking this may be cheaper than taking a big vacation but man $2100-2500 plus fuel, lodging and tips puts me in the price range of going see the Grand Canyon…

make sure to budget for fuel prices. I'm sure it's well over 5 bucks a gallon at venice marina and those boats with 4 engines may burn 250plus on a trip to the floaters.

my favorite capt. is peace marvel. followed by lil heavy with voodoo and jordan ellis at mex. gulf.

Going to be interesting to see how the off shore game plays out this summer with the fuel prices , at some point people will have to cry uncle and stay home

For sure the fuel is going to temper demand I think. I was hoping to do a day trip for $2500 total plus tip that extra $1000-1500 for fuel is a deal breaker for me. Time to look up old friends that still have boats…

Jordan is the man. So I guess that is Jordan x3. I will add Kevin to your list.
