I agree he is not what you what you want for a Friday starter. What you need there is a guy with way above average control and a dominant out pitch. He doesn’t have either of those but for now he’s hitting out and has had us in position to win every game he’s started. Imo we would be in great shape if he were our Saturday starter.
As for Friday, currently, we don’t seem to have a guy ready or capable of taking that role from him. I haven’t seen Dutton pitch more than once this year but I do believe he has the ability to be a top end starter in this league. A couple more outings will be revealing for him.
Friday needs a guy that is dominant. A guy that stays ahead in the count, has a hammer of an out pitch and manages to get through 6 or 7 innings regularly in 105 pitches.

So money kinda?
He was ahead in the count regularly ,in early innings ,in all but one of his starts. Before he hurt his wrist he went as deep as the eighth inning and in other games he got past 6th . More often than not he gets to or through the sixth.
He’s got an out pitch, actually he has a few pitches that have swing and miss potential. His fastball was 95 mph with some movement, he was squeezed a bit last night but is Very capable of hitting the edges. He’s got a plus changeup that has been really dominant and he can throw a good breaking ball
He would be a high end saturday guy imo
