when you are down by 20 pts or more and you make a good tackle just walk back to the defensive huddle don't act like you are a big dog. If your team is getting the shite kicked out of it there is no reason to celebrate a frickin tackle. Team is ahead of individual efforts.

Also what was up with the white beads in McCray and #29's hair. It must have taken 5 hours for the "hairdo". They showed close ups after each had been burned on a play. Hopefully I am wrong but the Pellini toughness seems to be changing to a "I am on TV look at me attitude." It is so easy to change your mind set and get fat and happy by reading your press clippings.

One positive thing was that Miles said the team didn't give up and continued to play hard. It

When things get burnt, the ashes are usually white in color.

Obviously never been an athlete. You make a big hit, you're trying to get some momentum and adrenaline pumping to you AND your teammates.

Wow, haven't heard a take like that on the situation. Everyone else has bitched about it.

Yea, from what I saw, they were just trying to pump up their teammates. When Verne or Gary, whichever cocksmoker, was talking about them and how they shouldn't trash talk when they were down, I wanted to jump through the fricking TV. They honestly never fail to piss me off.

When the game was out of reach in the fourth quarter players were celebrating tackles and it seemed ridiculous.

Who the frick cares? Baseball players wear women's underwear when they play, like I give a shite if one of our players wears beads in his hair.

Because they never stopped playing and kept their heart out there.

He apparently thinks hairstyles and accessories are affecting our team's ability to be mentally focused for games.

The talking trash when you are down part was not that bad, it was talking trash after tebow had a decent gain. WTF it's not like he stopped him for a loss or anything.

McCray should pump up the team by not getting burned big at least twice a game.......

Celebrating a tackle when the game is over is like celebrating winning a battle after you have lost the war. Worthless. Focusing attention on yourself and not on team. You don't fire up your team by celebrating when you already know the game is over. Just seems dumb as hell. I apologize about the freakin white hair beads though. When I was growing up only girls wore them. Just seemed to be "soft" to me. My bad on that one.

What's worse when a team is getting blown out, a team still trying to make plays and stay fired up, or a team that just gives up altogether?

Definitely still trying their hardeet.....that was a good point Miles mentioned. Just don't celebrate after you lost the fricken game. Just do your job to the best of your ability and line up for the next play.

Hell, that attitude is why we've come back so many times in Mile's tenure....albeit the fact the other deficits were smaller. It looked like LSU was gonna pull it off again, but late in the 3rd quarter it just didn't happen and the game got away.

I started drinking in the second q and was intoxicated by the end of the game, and more focused at that point at try to shut up all the whiny little girls on here than focusing on the end of the game -- so I missed our smack-talking in the end.

But I was sober when I saw our defender knock the crap out of Tebow, and I thought it was perfect how he got and his face and let him know about it. You knock the crap out of a big guy like Tebow, that's something to get in his face about, especially since Tebow is such an emotional fragile kid that cries all the time. I love it. And yeah, I was pissed when the announcers commented on that saying it wasn't a good idea.

As for my overall theory on trash-talk and show-boating, it depends on the situation. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I think it was wrong. When you knock the crap out of someone, that's awesome if you get in his face and let him know about it. But when Reggie Bush returns a kick for a TD, and he is taunting the slow-arse people that can't catch him... yeah, I don't see the point of that... and I like how Bush wasn't taunting at all during his last two kick returns against Minn.

Also, with our basketball superstar Chris Paul for the Hornets, I'm surprised at how humble that kid is. Yeah, its a nice quality. But I often wish he'd show just a little more emotion at least sometimes to get his team fired up.

As for Tebow, I'd like the trash-talking he does if he wasn't supposed to be hyped as some sort of Super Christian role model. As a Super Christian role model, it makes Tebow look retarded when he talks smack. But if Tebow was just a normal football player, not someone considered to be a Super Christain role model, then yeah, I'd love it when he talks smack. That's part of the game -- if you do it at the right moments.

And like I said, the only time I got to witness LSU trash talk was when our defender knocked the crap out of Tebow and let him know about it -- that was awesome.

Talking trash is a sign of confidence. Confidence is a sign of leadership.

I forgot to comment on Spike's "punt" he did in the endzone after returning the TD... yeah, he got a penalty for it... but I didn't see the problem with it. I thought that was good-old-fashioned football trash-talk. If was making the rules in the NCAA, Spike wouldn't have had to get a penalty for that.

trash talking is fine. But after you are beat in the fourth quarter you should stop dancing after a tackle and keep your mouth shut. Show a little respect for the team that just kicked your arse. Do your best the rest of the game and then take the pain home and learn from it.
