If football doesn’t work out he can always make it as an English teacher.

So looks like he took the picture with Matthieu but completely ignored the message he had for the team

He’s been at LSU for all of what 6 months? This is the type of attitude Kelly is ridding this program of.

Purely speculation but I wouldn’t be surprised if this were scholarship-related. I remember running the scholarship numbers on the recruiting board about 2 months ago and thinking (surprisingly) that it was actually going to be tough to get below 85 if we took a full class of 32. We are currently at 29 with 3 spots left.

I haven’t taken a deep dive into the numbers since January, but it’s quite possible that the staff didn’t have room to give Pig Cage a scholly.

If so it’s an unfortunate situation. Say what you want about his performance in the bowl game - generally speaking if you play in 8 games and start 1 as a walk on, you’re probably going to be on scholarship the next year. I can’t imagine it’s common at major programs for players to contribute at that level and not be awarded scholarships. If that’s what is going on, I can’t fault the kid for being upset.

At the same time, though, the staff has to stay under the 85 cap while also doing what’s best for the program.

I could be completely off base. I’m just saying this because I remember this exact same discussion a couple of months ago re: Pig’s status as a walk on.

ETA: Just caught up, it sounds like that’s basically what happened (if the other guy’s info is reliable). Sucks but unfortunately that’s the nature of the beast.

Yawn, Not losing sleep over a walk-on. Guy shouldn't be able to play here. Got to play in the bowl game and all of a sudden thinks he is a front line SEC player. Hey Pig we had 39 players in that game, ask yourself if we had a full healthy roster do you sniff the field.

Feel the same about the LB #58 Small, if he's getting significant PT we are in trouble. Didn't believe O for a minute last year when he was hyping him to start.
