Back in the late 60's, there was a club on Stanford Avenue across from the Lakes. We were trying to recall the name of the club yesterday. It was a plain red brick building with just a double door facing Stanford. It was in the area of the old Studio Arms apartments. Don't recall it ever having a sign with a name on it. There used to be some fairly good bands played there from time to time. If anyone can recall the name, please post. Thanks.

Speakeasy - There was also a Phil-a-Sak convenience store next to it

That was the stop before heading towards the ‘eternal flame’ out on River Road

This is also the building used by William Glascock to set up a front company, Asian International Ltd, to distribute Billy Cannon's counterfeit money internationally. This is where they'd transfer the money from Cleburne, Texas to Baton Rouge. It was at about this time when the scheme unraveled for Billy.
