I was told this,
When the City was annexing Greatwood, the homeowners has 3 million in a improvement fund that had to be spent.
The City was going to kick in some funding for improvements to the course and clubhouse since there is no public golf course in Sugarland now and the City owns the water rights.
Lopez tried to up the offer and all parties walked. Our money was spent on our levee and the main pool and clubhouse.

I actually enjoy both layouts, but I've never been impressed with the maintenance. To me they are relatively inexpensive places to get in a round and work on stuff, especially when they aren't crowded.
I'm curious to see what the city would have done to the course.
