They are organized enough to go into a large country and begin to surround the major cities. They are taking out military targets without resistance. How are the Ukrainians going to get resupplied? Russia owns the air. They will obtain a victory by the end of April. They could be leveling cities but are taking a more controlled approach.

Hypersonic missiles would make easy work of our aircraft carriers. The US does not have a viable solution to this type of weaponry.

quote:

“Hypersonic weapons are extremely difficult to detect and counter given these weapons’ speed, maneuverability, low flight paths, and unpredictable trajectories,” NORAD commander Gen. Glen VanHerck told CTVNews.ca. “Hypersonic weapons challenge NORAD’s ability to provide threat warning and attack assessments for Canada and the United States.”

Umm, holy hell where to even start with this.

Victory by end of april? Define the victory conditions? All of ukraine? The sepratists regions? Sepratists regions plus a land bridge between them? New government? Zelensky stays but loses some land? They could very well achieve victory tomorrow depending on what goals they actually want to accomplish.

Taking out military targets without resistance? Then why havent they taken locations they’ve been attacking since the start? Oh… probably because there is resistance, no? Or are you claiming that there is no resistance anywhere because 1 hypersonic missle was used and they couldnt stop it?

How are the Ukrainians going to get resupplied? Have you not seen the hundreds of russian supply vehicles on fire? It took them 3 weeks to figure out they need to protect their supply lines. By all accounts, the Russians are having a hell of a time trying to sustain supply lines to the front. That may improve moving forward after their current strategic pause.

Russia owns the air… except when they dont and the ukrainians bomb a dozen of their helicopters sitting at the Kherson airport like 2 days ago.

ETA: They COULD be flattening cities? They area, and still haven't taken Mariupol

Remember the Falklands War and the damage done to the Royal Navy by much inferior weapons.

This is what keeps me awake at night. I have a personal, family interest in this scenario. And all I can do about it is pray.

So far there have been (3) phases of the war

Phase 1 - Russia's initial attack and offensive innitive ended in July after their offensives for the most part stopped

Phase 2 - Ukraine's counter offensive in Kharkov and Kherson August to November. Weather changed and grounds were mud.

Phase 3 - Current phase. Strategic stalemate. ground has been unfavorable for tracked vehicles to be used in mass. trench warfare, and maned assaults.

Phase 4 - TBD. which side will regain the initiative and conduct a successful offensive operation. Will likely start in April/Main (Spring, when rain season ends) question is will the Wests supplies help turn the tide or will Russia's mobilized forces overwhelm.....

but i highly doubt the war will be over by the end of April. it will likely get restarted by the end of april.
