I don't think I've ever met anyone who was rabidly political that I considered to be very intelligent. It's always the naive types that get worked up into a frenzy after watching Fox News or CNN

I am highly suspicious of people who are deeply into the Q thing. I know a few people that I respect who are suspiciously well read on the topic. But most are the retired, angry boomers with too much time on their hands.
I don't necessarily dismiss their intelligence, but I do assume that people who openly support Democrats the last few years are highly intolerant of others, lack intellectual honesty, likely supports cancel culture, and possibly backs imprisonment of people who don't agree with their world view. Basically I immediately suspect that they are totalitarian brown coats until I can prove otherwise.
I know profiling is wrong, but it's for my own protection.
