Putin will eventually take Ukraine but then he has a massive problem on his hands. He can’t install a puppet government and pull out because the people will just kill all of them and then Putin is right back where he started. He will have to leave the Russian military behind to keep those people in charge and then the real war starts. If Putin was smart he would cut bait right now and pull those guys out before he ends up like we did in Afghanistan. No sensible person doesn't see the looming problem for Putin if/when he's successful in overrunning Ukraine.
