I agree I don't think it will continue either. But I think at some point you've got to give some of these players (Gio, Bianco, etc) some starts if you really want to evaluate them. You can't keep bringing guys in to pinch hit in the 5th or 6th inning for an AB or two and expect to get the best out of them. That's just my opinion.

Gio got 6 at bats against Maine and did fine, but didn't get much more time until Texas. It's very possible that Jay knows that Gio is his best option but still wanted to look at other things. He has done everything he could have to stay in the lineup.

Bianco was hurt coming into the season. He started behind. Just a tough spot for him.

All these guys were evaluated in the Fall and preseason. They all had numerous ABs and chances in the field. Johnson got a good idea of what they all can do.

But sometimes guys don’t pan out when they turn the lights on and adjustments have to be made. Sometimes guys catch on and improve enough to be considered as starters. Sometimes injuries happen and force changes. We have seen this already.

Moving forward I suspect we will see what Johnson thinks are better options than what we see playing now.
