Funny because mine just made hybrid work permanent.

Side chats during the meeting hint that perhaps this could be the evolution.

Mine too. Full team required on Wednesday’s. Remote the rest of the week. I’m the only weirdo on my team that likes working from the office so I usually go in T-W-TH

Other people are there from other teams so I still have people there to talk to and socialize with. A day is better for me when I have a reason to put on a set of nice clothes and start my morning with 30 minutes of hair metal at full volume during my commute.

I was remote full time for about a year and a half but we're doing hybrid permanently as well. I guess that could always change if we had a leadership change but for now I go into the office one day per week.

Our department supposedly had to shift to this model because they weren't able to attract good candidates to a full time in the office job

So is mine, but it's just a disguise to have less down time. It looks good right now only having to go in a couple days every pay period. Long term they're only going to let us work remote a couple days every period. With that, since we're all maintaining telework ready status, no more bad weather days, no more off for mardi gras, etc.. I am all for working during those times, but the way they're doing it is a bs lie. Maximizing employer benefit and minimizing employee benefit.

This is what I'd prefer.

In office 2, sometimes 3 days a week, handle all the stupid meetings and phone calls that mostly serve to waste time, yada yada.

Let me stay home the rest of the time and just focus on my work. I'd get more accomplished on 1 day at home, without some a-hole knocking on my door any time they wanted, than I would in 3 days on site.

Same here. Not COVID related either.

And we were NOT work from home or hybrid prior to this.
