True, the University of Ga study in La did show bear predator issues on fawns. But that is nature. And it IS reason for future bear numbers control.

But its not just about what Joe Jackleg wants, like Jim who calls me douche. Education left him behind.

But, because black bear occured here naturally, the dept of WL seeks to restore a manageable population. And the bear always ate a few fawns. You simply cut back on deer hunt days or tags, because the bear is taking some now.

The goal is a healthy population of both. Providing recreation for Joe Blow, is not a factor. We are just an effective TOOL to control population.

Is A reason, the biggest reason is the viable bear habitat in La is well past carrying capacity and has been for 15-20 years

I’ve encountered a few (including a rather large collared male), all have scurried away….. from a 27lb growling Boykin

300 LB raccoons

But with every human interaction they lose a little fear.

I'd worry more about the exploding boar population. Wild boar will eat anything, including fawns.
