Once they introduced Ezekiel the weird black guy who pretended to be a medieval king who had a pet lion. That was the final nail in coffin for me.

My mom still watches and I saw an episode with Alpha that actually looked interesting, but I cant invest anymore time into the show.

Yep, that was the episode that jumped the shark. They just spent seasons losing their innocence in the world with the farm and governor. All those hard lessons had to be forgotten because the authors needed them to be stupid enough to walk into that trap where Negan could monolog and brain Glenn and Abraham with Lucille. Then after they get away, they spent seasons where Negan was suppose to intimidate Rick into submission. Rick is the person that killed another man by biting him and ripping his jugular vain out in front of his followers. Yep, some dude was a baseball bat wrapped in a little barbed wire is going to intimidate that dude.

Every episode with Negan was a monolog and then he guts some minor character. Mind you, many times he was by himself in Alexandria. They just all stood around and took it because of "hostages." Rick by his natural progression should have put a bullet between dude's eyes and attacked their compound where the hostages were being held immediately.
