Germany would have done Ukraine a much better service by pulling some of their old Gepards out of storage and gotten them up and running again instead of sending Leopard 1 tanks. Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands all have them in storage. Just seems like a better use of money and resources getting AA systems to Ukraine rather than outdated tanks with thin armor. Not to say the Leopard 1 won’t be useful, I’m sure it will. I just question how effective they will be against other tanks.
