After several unsuccessful sorties by Ukrainian mobile groups on Russian positions south of Davydiv Brid and near Piatykhatky, Ukrainian leadership conducted an extraction of dead and wounded men from the 57th Motorized and 60th Infantry brigades.

In the night and morning of October 6, enemy sabotage-recon groups operated on the Kostromka-Bruskinske line and Piatykhatky-Kochkarivka line. Each group had four people from the AFU 46th Aeromobile and 128th Mountain brigades.

Two Bayraktar-2 UAVs patrol over the Inhulets river, based at Kanatove airfield. In the area of Bila Krynitsa at least one SAM and several MANPADS have been deployed to cover the Ukrainian contingent.

Around 10:00 units from the AFU 60th Infantry Brigade launched an assault on the Piatykhatky-Polianka line, supported by mortar crews. As of this writing the fighting is ongoing.

Meanwhile, forces of the 57th Brigade once again attempted to storm Russian Armed Forces positions near the forest belt south of Davydiv Brid. Russian Armed Forces artillery fired on the AFU strike groups, and the enemy retreated with losses.

as of 18:00 Kyiv Time, October 6, 2022.

At the moment, the AFU grouping in the Bakhmut direction has, according to various sources, 30 to 40 thousand men. It includes units of the 55th Motorized, 93rd Mechanized, and 128th Mountain brigades, as well as fighters of the Aidar battalion.

In the course of an offensive from the Mykolaivka-2, Wagner PMC units seized an AFU stronghold at a road junction south of Otradivka and continued towards Kurdyumivka. Otradivka itself is also fully under the control of the Wagnerians.

Reports of the liberation of Zaitseve south of Bakhmut proved premature. Most of the settlement is controlled by Wagner, but AFU retain a presence in the western part of the village, where there is heavy fighting. The advance is slowed by a difficult situation with landmines.

The Wagnerians also liberated the settlement of Vesela Dolina, continuing their movement towards Ivanhrad.

In Bakhmut, Wagner PMC units managed to expand their control zone along the highway and enter the industrial zone on Patrice Lumumba Street, also occupying the asphalt plant in the southeast of the city.

Reports of a mass retreat of Ukrainian Armed Forces from the Bakhmut direction do not yet correspond to reality. The numerically superior Ukrainian units are putting up fierce resistance against the advancing Wagner PMC forces.
