Yeah, so? Do you still not recognize the advantage to shifting to sources of energy that are not so dependent o

There was a time not so long ago under a recent president that we were no longer dependent upon global imports. Yes we still imported some different flavors of crude but we were also exporting enough of our own stocks we were net positive.

And what I'm trying to point out, and which you aren't grasping, is there is a monumental difference between buying international supplies so that you can be self-sustaining vs. investing in a vehicle which makes you reliant on international energy markets for its entire useful life.

And you're losing people here. The EV is not "self sustaining". The battery packs have a finite life. The battery packs are very expensive to replace, so much so, it can total the vehicle.

Again, the American O&G market can be self sustaining if we don't have shite for brains leaders in office directing crappy policy.

It doesn't matter whether we are a net importer or exporter, the fact remains that the oil market is very volatile. Always has been and always will be.

Jesus you guys are *not* getting it. Your ICE vehicle won't last forever, either. I'm talking about being energy independent at the national on down to the individual level. Surely you've noticed all the bitching about gas prices, right? You participate too, right? Right now it's fun to blame Biden, but it's always something because there's always something. The whims of the middle east, the market as a whole, this or that. If prices get too low everybody cuts production until it goes back up because that's just how markets work. And if O&G is your only option for transportation energy, every industry feels the highs and lows. On the other hand, if you can charge your vehicle with gas, diesel, natgas, coal, nuclear, wind, solar, tidal, geothermal, or any other way we can figure out to produce electricity, the volatility is smoothed out and there is always downward pressure on prices. Every single other industry gets lubricated as a result.

Again, even if we are a net exporter, that still does not solve the problem. That still does not stabilize the O&G market. That still does not give the individual the ability to be self-sufficient in terms of energy and transportation.

Answer this: how much would you be willing to pay to have your own refinery on your own property that supplies you with 90+% of the gasoline you need, and which magically requires zero cost input stock?
