It was used as a reference point, for example, when discussing the comedy of Redd Foxx, who used it on broadcast television as recent as the 1970s.

It was not used maliciously, but in an "academic" setting. The fact that there is a word that can't even be used in an evidentiary or reference setting is fricking insane.

I just had a post deleted on the OT on this topic where the dreaded N-word was asterisks and the post was still deleted.

The power people give that word is anti-intellectual and backwards. It's moronic.

I was watching Semi Tough with Burt Reynolds not too long ago and he said it in the opening scene of the movie. Pretty sure that he said it in at least one or two other films as well.

Anyone that tries to say that things weren't better when we weren't living in a perpetual panty wadding contest is completely full of shite.
