Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 (or whatever the next entry in the series will actually be called) is coming. It says that active development on the game is well underway, and it will share more details when it's ready.

It really is nuts that GTA V lasted for 3 consoles.

Its so annoying..5 should have been a 360 game.
6 should have been released one xbox one, and 7 should have been one xbox series x. Each system should have gotten 2 stand alone titles after each. (Like Vice City and San Andreas)
A Numbered release should be for a new console, and all DLC games should connect to the same online lobby since online is so damn important

They better give Tim Dillon a radio station in this game.

It might be out in time for the PS5 Slim

Online is fantastic in terms of content they’ve pumped up over this span. While you may not enjoy it, saying they’ve done nothing for nine years is delusional.

And purchasing GTA5 for 3 different consoles is asinine

Why rush to build a new game with a huge team when you can just add multiplayer expansion packs to an existing game with a smaller team and make money hand over fist? You can always have a couple guys in the background making the new game if the old game lasts you a decade.

Thats the issue
Two of the franchise's most popular releases are what could have been known nowadays as single player DLC, with VC & SA within 3 years from GTA 3. Each game was unique and had its own personality as far as music, dialog, themes and etc. A lot of people don't like multiplayer, shark card ridiculousness and just enjoy a well written campaign every 2 or so years. Which could be done while also working on the next generation release.

1.5 years before the location is revealed?

:raiseshand: That's me. I totally get what you're saying. Hell, I'd take one every 3-4 years. I rarely play any multiplayer games anymore. R* has more incentive to make shark cards than a new game, though.

They started working on GTA VI at some point in the last decade? No Way. These last few press releases from Rockstar, departures in the company, and the way that they handled the "definitive editions" have left me really skeptical about the direction of this company.
But I hope that I'm wrong and there's zero chance that I won't be buying GTA VI.
It'll still be nice if they'd toss some actual bones in these press releases.

Make both
4000 employees and 9 years..just sucks to have had the same game resold on 3 different consoles.
Imagine if Mario 3 was just re-released on NES, SNES, and 64

This is me. I thought that GTA Online was great, for those that were interested. But the way that they have totally ignored people like me, that only care about story mode, has pissed me off to the point that I've never even tried to play the online version of GTA V.
Running around in an online world with a bunch of kids/cheaters sounds too much like anarchy to me.

Should have started working on this the day 5 was released.

Unless you are on PC, this isn’t a thing.
