Of course not. That's not even a narrative, it's just what he's doing, according to himself.
It does confirm beyond any doubt that his plan to nominate based on race and gender is something he's doing only because he believes it's politically expedient to him, not because he cares about lifting up minority women or selecting the best candidate.
