Guys go into movies and shows now just waiting for anything to be offended by. I think the only thing these guys don't see as woke is old westerns where you have a white male saving the day from the those evil Native Americans and Mexicans. LOL

Using the term woke was probably too politically charged of a word for the OP to use. If you’re trying to help the OP, just contrast Yellowstone with Deadwood.

Deadwood tried to be historically accurate with western culture and the norms of the time. But many other examples of historical fiction try too hard to connect with modern audiences by introducing characters whose minds are more aligned with modern norms.

So I’ll phrase the question differently. Is Yellowstone similar to Deadwood in terms of historical accuracy or does Yellowstone take a more sensitive approach to avoid offending too many viewers?
