Do NFL kickers get tested for beta blockers?

Beta blockers help “block” or reduce adrenaline. Seems like this would be helpful when kicking a potential game winning field goal with millions of eyes/hopes and dreams of your team and fans on you. Do they test these guys for this? Would taking them even be wrong?

No, but I sense a beta in this thread.

Do they have a negative long term effects on your body?
If not, let them take them at will.
All you’re trying to prevent by making drugs illegal in sports is one guy willing to sacrifice his long term health for better results while the other guy isnt willing to do the same. Thus giving the first guy an advantage. Which results in more guys sacrificing their long term health and the league sort of incentivizing sacrificing your health

They work their whole life for that opportunity. It’s a blessing to be there and for sure they aren’t worrying about missing.

Those seem like reasons that also could make one worrying about missing.

They’re parents sure TF are nervous, I just don’t think they are. They learn to operate under pressure right along with learning to kick. I think it makes them better honestly.

with the prevalence of systemic racism and white supremacy, why do they always call on a skinny white dude when the chips are on the table

Those narrow hash marks are what piss me off about NFL kicking. I'd like to see the pros deal with the tough angles that come with wide hash marks.

The great ones don’t, but you haven’t watched much NFL if you don’t think that doubt creeps in a lot of kickers’ minds. Even the really good ones get the hips occasionally. Now this Bengals rookie stud who, when they got in FG range (52 yards in the butt arse cold) at the end of the game, looked around at some teammates and said “Welp, guys, looks like we’re going to the AFC championship game.” That dude wasn’t worried about missing. Of course, he has had a whole season for that BDE from BDJ to rub off on him, so it probably was inevitable.

The McPherson boys can kick TF out of the ball. The younger one is going to Bama next year. Both #1 kickers out HS. Impressive.

What is it about LSU fans and penises?

Yeah, I watched him on the Pat MacAfee show this morning, and as unbelievably cool and confident as he comes across, even he conceded his brother was probably going to be better. Or at least is better now than he was at the same age. Crazy.
I know your son is a kicker. How’s he doing? I hope very well.

He did very well in the recent camps. Made a 58 yarder off the ground to win a round of competition in Orlando, went perfect charting there. At IMG he went 9/10 charting, had a 75 yd kickoff, and went 13/13 to win the FG competition…only 2025 off the ground.
He’s waiting for the rankings to come out.

Huh? In many cases adrenaline gives you focus and additional power.
Why would they want to block it? It doesn't cause anxiety

Feel like they do it so much in practice and warm ups that they just zone in and kick. Then again some guys just got ice in the veins and don’t GAF.

The only athletes I know who are forbidden to use beta blockers are those that compete in the Olympics with handguns, rifles, or archers, that kind of thing.
