Granted EWE was definitely interested in getting his share of goodies. He also did some good stuff that Louisiana is still reaping the benefits from. In 1974, he changed the Severance Tax rates on Oil from 26 cents per barrel to 12.5% of value. This brought in a lot more tax revenue. More revenue coming in meant more development. More development brought more opportunities to get more "contributions."

Edwards had 16 years as Governor,plus his time as a congressman where he could have worked to improve the state. He choose to maintain the status quo, and deserves a lot of the blame for where the state is.

During the Edwards Administration at least one fortune 500 company was interested in building an auto assembly plant near Lafayette. A corrupt Edwin W.Edwards destroyed that. The state has suffered ever since.
Without a doubt EWE left a legacy of corruption that still plagues the state.

Trina proved that one doesn't necessarily have to go to college or trade school to make it big in today's society. If you're a woman like she is, just latch on to an old, rich guy and have his sperm injected into you to create a child which in turn becomes your income source for life.

As I posted before, EWE deserves any blame he has received for the condition of th state, he had 16 years he could have tried to improve things , but didn’t.
