Their argument is that it is "not part of the Mississippi curriculum," so it shouldn't be banned.
The other argument is that codifying its ban keeps it out.

Do you have a link? I am curious about the details.
Because what is, and isn't CRT is contested, broad laws like "CRT is banned" could be next to useless (which depending on your point of view could be a good or bad thing).

My stupid sis in law said nothing was wrong with CRT
I asked her why she hated black people. She said she didn't, I said according to CRT you do.
And then I asked her to ask my 2 year old why she was a white supremist.
She shut up, but her mind I am sure didn't change

Did they just say "CRT" in the bill? TX learned with Core a few yrs back that the tenants have to be laid out specifically or the Dems will just change the name and move forward. So for our anti-CRT bill the tenants were laid out to cover name changes.

So two black members walked out?
Two of the thirty four senators who voted?
It’s pretty rare to see a 32-2 vote to tell people not to drink gasoline. Seems like the CRT ban is pretty well agreed upon by both sides

So for the people that keep the "it's only taught in law schools as a concept, and not anywhere else" argument...has anyone found a good article that breaks it down with good proof?
Something easy to send someone instead of trying to convince them with arguing that will go no where.
TIA

That said they walked out before the vote

Not just Dems.
Mike Pence did the exact same thing when he was governor of Indiana and then ran around the state claiming he repealed Common Core- when all he did was change the name.

More politicians not doing their jobs.

Not to derail this thread but it's a good one for people interested in this topic ...
Greg Abbott is on the campaign trail now, and he just announced a plan to push a "Parents Bill of Rights" aimed at transparency in what kids are being taught. He apparently just stated it while visiting a school in DFW area
So it's good our southern states are attacking leftie ideals for the future. Though we do need to do better at being proactive.

Lock the doors behind them and keep them out.

Yeah not surprised he would do that. Other than his personal Christian values, he's definitely not good for the Conservative push into the future. NCAA really started their blatant left turn while he was Governor, and couldn't get past that as I felt if he was a staunch political conservative he would have shown the the light somehow. So much can be done obviously, but still close proximity should have been beneficial.
And thanks for saying Common Core, I couldn't remember the Common part so glad it made sense.

You can teach students about America’s racist past. But CRT teaches that the entire system is racist. That is total horse shite.
CRT is a political opinion. It’s not a theory. It’s barely a hypothesis. It has no business in schools.

Remember when MLK, Jr. said to judge by character and not color?
Why don't the black folks and other race hustlers remember that part?
