Why would the markets care about the voting act? To me this is all about high inflation leading to a hawkish Fed sucking money out of the markets and expectations of interest rate hikes following a time of exceptionally friendly monetary policy. IMO people are trying to force a political narrative depending on their particular slant

It has nothing to do with voting rights per se; it's simply that you have a nation adrift, with seemingly no purpose or direction, nothing seems to be getting accomplished, and what we have in America today is utter disunity, not unity. The markets take a cue from the prevailing zeitgeist.
