Trump Wants To Ban Nancy Pelosi From Trading Stocks Says “She has inside information, it’s not right”

https://worldtoday365.info/trump-wants-to-ban-nancy-pelosi-from-trading-stocks-says-she-has-inside-information-its-not-right/

quote:

President Donald Trump came out in support of bi-partisan efforts to ban members of Congress from trading stocks after Nancy Pelosi’s incredible returns in the market stunned the country.

Trump said it is “not fair” to normal Americans for members like Pelosi and many others to cash in on what Trump called ‘inside information.’ Trump said: “She has inside information. It’s not right. It’s not appropriate. It shouldn’t be. She doesn’t want to discuss that.

The fact they were ever allowed is mind boggling but why would we expect them to govern themselves.

Government officials should be banned from trading and investing while holding office

Exactly. That someone would use their position of power and public trust to enrich themselves at the expense of the American taxpayer is horse crap.

Anyone who does it should be prosecuted. Stop letting people think they're above the law

Unpopular opinion, every federally elected official should not be allowed to own stock.

I'd even go a step further and say federal employees have the same restriction, though I know that is likely too extreme.

The problem is they just do it by proxy via husband/wife, kids, siblings, buddies, etc.

Government officials and their immediate family members should have their entire financial lives open to the public.

Due to apparent concerns regarding corruption, I should be able to see every purchase they make and every monetary intake they incur.

She's outperformed a number of index funds by 800-900% over the same period.

That's flat out leftist thinking.

So if my brother or sister decides to run and win a Congress seat then all of us other siblings now has to open up our books? My arse!

The biggest issue is that she and others are in position to make or break companies and invest before they do it.

It is screwed up big time.

Too bad.

Then you or they shouldn’t run.

They hold such prolific power that those in these positions should be held in check from the moment they are elected onwards.

I also don’t think anyone at any level of government from the president to the janitor in Monroe should be allowed to vote either.

Come at Scruffy, bro.

I don't think insider information is as near as bad as a political influence to change the value of a companies worth and future business for better or worse.

Take XOM for example ,their stocks are roaring because they committed to net zero carbon emissions by 2050. It was a submissive move by Exxon and it fits right into the Dem playbook.

It’s one of the very few things I agree with AOC on.

While you’re in office you and your family should be barred from investing.

You as the politician get the Thrift Savings Plan and your spouse gets their employer 401k or their own IRA.

Maybe then we’ll get people in there that actually want to make it better and not just self profit.

So since pelosi and trump both benefited from their positions at the expense of taxpayers, cant we go after them both?

If he did, then yea.

This isn’t some “gotcha” moment like you’re trying to make it.

This is along the same lines as national security and foreign policy. Every American should be on board with this.
