VPN for your home router, etc.

Anyone have any experiences to share? How much is your download speeds slowed and it looks like you need a fairly high-dollar router to be compatible. Seems like a good idea to keep your internet traffic anonymous, but not sure if it's something I really need or not.

For those with gigabit internet connections I would like to know if your speeds were greatly reduced with specific vpn's.

Encryptions on every packet will inherently slow down "speed" but the higher the bandwidth and faster the processing on both ends, the less you'll notice.

I have a VPN with Norton.

It does slow down speeds some.

I also have to turn it off to log on to some websites.

With consumer software VPNs you can generally expect at least a 30% drop in speed. No consumer VPN can handle a full gig connection that I am aware of. You would need to look into an enterprise hardware VPN to get close to that.

I use VPN to watch out of market games in every sport and it’s simple and gets the job done
