My father who is supposed to have his kidney removed because of a suspicious tumor that is more than likely cancerous in 2 weeks just tested positive for Covid. They will not operate if he has a positive test within a week of the surgery.

Tried googling for a MAB near Tampa and just got the regular bullshite red tape.

Any help would be greatly appreciated baws!

Pretty sure most of them don't work for omicron. Could test positive for a few weeks after anyway but might not. Kind of a crapshoot. I don't see how the antibodies can reduce the time that you're testing positive for.

Does he have symptoms? I think you actually have to have symptoms to get it

Mine was caught early (1 cm). Only removed a section of kidney. I am not required to even get screenings anymore, but choose to do an annual anyway. The surgery is a bitch tho. Felt like a truck hit me.

Just a head cold symptoms. We are just trying to do everything we can to make sure he would test negative next Monday to get his surgery.

How would we know? Brandon stopped distribution before we ever had a chance to know.

I would surely check with his oncologist and see if they recommend it before doing anything.

I work in healthcare. One of my best friends gives the therapy. She says it doesn't do Jack. Same as the vaccine it seems.

His is 4 cm. Has not metastasized thank god. He is 60, so they will be taking it all to be on the safe side.

I don't know that the MAB therapy will cause a negative test. Also they have been tweaked to adjust for Omicron. They weren't doing anything, so in Texas we stopped them. They've begun them again but the supply is small. Don't know about where the OP family is.

I'd suggest the OP take a decongestant, dry that fricking nose up where they are very limited in material to test on the swab.

Surprised they are not backing it up 30 days actually. Not sure if the antibodies will help speed up the time. The cancer diagnosis may change things. The antibodies I for some reason remember being told are not good on the kidneys. That may be false info.

Honestly its not a huge deal if he has to wait

Renal cell carcinoma is extremely slow growing and usually takes several years before it decides to metastasize. How big did they say it was?

Big, but not huge

If he has to wait an extra couple months it honestly shouldnt matter

And you dont have to go to Mayo Clinic, any half assed urologist can do a nephrectomy
