Any of you carry a revolver? If so what do you carry? I prefer revolver over pistol.

Got a S&W model 36 that carries fine, just prefer my Glock. If I were to buy a new revolver just for carry it would be a sp 101

SW 642 in a pocket holster.

I carried a 3" GP100 for a while. Certainly doable with a good belt and holster. Sold it because I didn't like the 3" barrel, lots of noise and fire outta that thing.

Why do you prefer a revolver?

A revolver IS a pistol.

“A revolver IS a pistol.”
Technically,,you’re wrong.Pistols and revolvers are both handguns.Pistols refer to handguns that have chamber integral with the barrel (semiautomatic)Also single shots.
The cylinder on a revolver is considered the chamber and can be moved out to be loaded.
Splitting hairs,I know.Kinda like calling a magazine a clip,technically they are different.

I was debating between SW 642 & SP 101.
Both have been mentioned in this thread.
I guess I'm on the right track.
Leaning 642.

Because its what i went thru the academy with, and because of that its the one that i am most accurate with under combat simulation.
I would bet that the #1 problem many people have with a R, is too fat of a grip. You cannot get enough index finger on the trigger to stage double action. THIS is why revolvers that have a backstrap, such as a Smith & Wesson original Model 66 or 19, or the Ruger Security Six, are the best for law enf work. They have a backstrap. Others such as the Ruger GP 100 do not. So fat grips are often the end result of a revolver that has no frame backstrap.
The model 66 original K frame was probably the best duty revolver ever, even though it could not take a 357 load punishment full time.

Ruger SP101 grips fit on the GP100 and slim/shorten it up a lot. I did that to mine and it helped it tremendously.
Yea, it was. They got that one exactly right. Its a shame they started making them again with the shitty lock.
The python has really good dimensions as well but is stupidly expensive.
I dont like the SP101. Thats a heavy chunky little bitch for only 5 shots.

Check out Davis with his 4 inch Python, Safariland speedloaders, and the old FBI stance.
LINK
A good movie example of correct revolver shooting.
I adopted the modified weaver, closely similar to hiccock 45. I have not seen anyone use that FBI stance since 1987.
I prefer HKS speedloaders.

I carry this Taurus 605 sometimes.
I’m not very accurate with it though.

Man I always thought that whole scene looked cheesy as hell. That goofy crouched down shooting stuff looks like hard-core 80's tacticool stuff

Davis was using the Isosoceles , or old Fbi stance . His use of cover and great speedloading tells me that the movie set had a very good technical advisor. One with experience.
David Soul also played Michael Platt, in the movie depicting the 1986 FBI Shootout in Florida
