If he's really gone b/c of being late for meetings that's pretty shitty. Some of the best and brightest people I've worked with, who also had integrity of the highest caliber, were chronically late.

It's not always about laziness or disrespectfulness. Some people are just wired differently.

It's not the tardiness alone.

If he had just taken his lumps and moved on, with some corrective action, all would have been good.

The more the new coaches, and Davis, pushed on him the more he pushed back. That had the inevitable result.

So this story isn't really about tardiness or rules. It's about picking your battles... for both sides one could say.

I actually agree with this and everything else you said, but we also should acknowledge we know zero details & this is the type of thing where that would matter.

If he was 5-10 minutes late twice, that’s a bit militant for f*cking January IMO. But maybe he missed 75% of something important and showed an evolving decline in interest / fit.

Who knows.
